What Did Each Category Actually Deliver?

This analysis helps you understand how your investment would have performed across different mutual fund categories over the same investment period. To make comparisons consistent, every scenario starts with an initial investment of ₹100 and evaluates the complete range of historical outcomes rather than a single start date.

What You'll Learn

Compare how Large Cap, Flexi Cap, Large & Mid Cap, Mid Cap, Multi Cap, Value, Focused, Small Cap and ELSS categories performed across every holding period from 1 year onward. Instead of showing only an average return, this page reveals the best, worst and typical historical outcomes that real investors experienced across different investment starting points.

Methodology

The analysis is based on rolling return analysis. Every possible investment start date is evaluated across each holding period, producing the complete distribution of historical investor outcomes. This avoids the bias of selecting one favourable or unfavourable investment period and provides a more representative view of long-term historical performance.

What Is Measured

For every category and holding period, EquityVoyage evaluates the typical historical outcome, the best and worst observed outcomes, outcome consistency, capital safety, and whether the category historically outperformed, matched or lagged its benchmark. Together, these measures help investors understand not only the potential reward but also how consistently that reward has been delivered under different market conditions.

Data Source

Historical Net Asset Value (NAV) data is sourced from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and compared against the corresponding Nifty Total Return Index (TRI) benchmark for both Direct and Regular plans. This page presents historical analysis for educational purposes only and should not be interpreted as a prediction of future performance.
